I walk on the land first stewarded by the Secwépemc Nation. I recognize the Secwepemcúĺecw territory as my current teacher, guide, and anchor in Tk̓emlúps, colonially known as Kamloops. With that, I carry the responsibility to honour the heavy history and wisdom that are held by the elders and ancestors of this land, seen and unseen, past, present, and future.
Land Acknowledgement and Promise.
I remember that I do not own the land that Mother places me on. I walk with Her here until She guides me elsewhere. I remember to bless the waters that nourish my family and me. I will not use any chemicals that would eradicate my child’s future or his children after him. I will remember to teach my child about the Indigenous plants, what is food and medicine, and how to properly harvest.
I will remember to value all living beings, no matter how small they might appear to be. I will remember that I walk with many, always connected, even when I would be made to believe otherwise. And I will remember to share this wisdom with whoever wishes. I speak these words with deep respect for those who have walked this path before me.

I believe that all seekers who find the Divine within connect with the same Light; however, the details of how they got there and their paths will look completely different. So, can we reach a space of love for one another? Can we explore the same themes and perhaps accept that we all use a different language within our own realms and universes?

It’s been a decade since I started the pen. I’d journal waters no longer bottled in oceans. Like most wielders, I’m self-taught. My pieces don’t believe in structure, each carrying a unique voice and ethereal jinn.
